San Juan County

Say farewell to worry and stress when you head to the San Juan Islands.  Count on temperatures around 70° in the summer and 40° in the winter.  A happy confluence of weather systems also accounts for the high level of air quality you’ll appreciate across the San Juans.

San Juan County is about 621 square miles in size with a population of about 16,000.  Geographically, San Juan County consists of over 400 various islands and rocks, of which only 128 have been named.  The shoreline is extremely rocky and contains several mountains, the highest being Mount Constitution, located on Orcas Island with an elevation of 2,407 feet above sea level.  The majority of San Juan County’s population lives on the largest four islands, Orcas Island, San Juan Island, Lopez Island and Shaw Island.
